Camino Network's $CAM Token Listed on MEXC and Gate.io, Boosting Web3 Travel Ecosystem

  • MEXC and Gate.io’s listing of CAM on tier-one exchanges will increase the token’s liquidity and broaden access to CAM.
  • The exchange listings come after $10 million was raised in seed and pre-sale Swiss rounds.

Two prominent centralized exchanges, MEXC and Gate.io, have listed the native token of the Web3 travel ecosystem Camino Network. Moreover, Camino Network, the travel-specific L1, introduces RWA tokenization, NFT ticketing, and TravelFi to the $11 trillion travel market. $CAM already powers an ecosystem of more than 200 enterprises, including prominent travel agencies, airlines, car rental companies, and IT behemoths.

On January 17th, CAM was listed on the MEXC exchange, where it was paired with USDT. This was complemented by CAM being listed with USDT as its base trading pair on Gate.io that same day.

MEXC and Gate.io’s listing of CAM on tier-one exchanges will increase the token’s liquidity and broaden access to CAM and the Camino Network. In the process, it will bring attention to how quickly Camino is moving toward its objective of harnessing web3 technology to revolutionize the travel sector.

The exchange listings come after $10 million was raised in seed and pre-sale Swiss rounds to expand Camino Network’s infrastructure. The groundwork for the next stage of Camino’s worldwide expansion, driven by the CAM token, is in place with its mainnet now operational, 200 enterprises operating, and over 100 validators travel industry validators.

Thomas Stirnimann, Council President of the Camino Network Foundation, said:

“With validators and partners on nearly every continent before launch, Camino Network stands apart from other projects. Our next step is clear: driving continued growth to connect all travel on-chain.”

On the Camino Network, CAM, a general-purpose utility token with a 1B fixed supply, serves a variety of purposes. It is included into Camino Messenger, the first worldwide decentralized booking system for the travel sector, which allows companies such as Lufthansa Group to instantly communicate current flight schedules, seat availability, and pricing to booking platforms and travel agents.

Transactions are facilitated by CAM in the expanding Camino ecosystem. Additionally, CAM is a prerequisite for taking part in decision-making processes and is necessary for carrying out on-chain travel activities. Validators who contribute to network security can get CAM rewards. In the meanwhile, holders of CAM tokens may access special deals and discounts from holiday providers, such as hotels and airlines.

The first L1 designed especially for the $11 trillion travel sector is Camino Network. It seeks to address major issues facing the sector, such as expensive payment costs, sluggish settlements, and difficult reconciliations. With hundreds of firms developing dApps and web3 travel B2B and B2C products, the network is already handling real commercial transactions.

Matt Law, Chief Commercial Officer, Outlier Ventures, said:

“Camino Network’s innovative approach to integrating blockchain technology within the travel industry is transformative, creating an ecosystem that enhances efficiency, security, and transparency in travel transactions. Their commitment to open-source solutions and unified travel data standards positions them as a pioneering force in the Web3 travel ecosystem and we are proud to have them in our portfolio through our Ascent Program. We are confident that Camino Network will continue to drive significant advancements in travel technology, and we look forward to witnessing their ongoing impact on the industry.”

Camino, which links millions of travel providers with well-known brands like the €35 billion Lufthansa Group, DERTOUR, and TUI already on board, was created to integrate travel booking, loyalty program, hotel, airline, cruise, or rental car backends. A common request-response mechanism is used by the network to replace hundreds of APIs, resulting in a smooth travel experience and a interconnected travel sector.
